Why do wolves howl at the moon?

An echoing call,

Always without an answer,

A mournful tone,

A symphony of sorrow,

Perhaps they howl for their loneliness,

For their isolation within the pack,

A solitude,

The moon s a beautiful thing,

A bright circle of ethereal light,

But why?

Why to the moon do they call?

Do they long?

It is an unanswered thing,

Perhaps they see the moon as the one thing,

The one thing that separates them from the rest,

There is sadness in their howls,

A lingering sorrow,

Perhaps they call for love,

They call to the moon,

Hoping that the moon will find them a mate to answer,

But the question is,

Will the moon grant them this?

Will give them the chance to find their love for life?

Through snow,

Through forests,

The wolves shall run,

They shall run until the next moon arises,

Until they can call to it again.
