Parents And Music Lessons

Parents and music lessons

It’s always violin or piano

It’s never anything cool

Like guitar

Or the drums

Violin and the piano

Mozart and Chopin

Forget

Tales of Brave Ulyesses

A Day in the Life

Or

Tommy’s Overture

Violin and piano

Concertos and Symphonies

Are what parents

Want their children to play

Not The Beatles, The Who or Cream

All the piano lessons

And all the violin lessons

Are the same

At school talent schools

Hundreds of kids

Play Mozart’s Chopsticks

Just once in my life

Just once I would like to see

Some little kid

Play on his guitar

Tales Of Brave Ulysses

A Day in the Life

Or

Some selection from

The Who’s Tommy

Let the little kids rebel

Let them have fun too

That way

Everybody will be able to enjoy

School talent shows
