Split Personality:Evil Twin

Just the other day, I was staring too long & hard at the mirror & to my my complete & utter astonishment, my reflection started talking to me!

“Hi there. Long time no see.”

(outraged)“What the fuck?!”

So it's true I don't fuss all that much over my appearance, but there's really no call for a remark like “Long time no see.” That makes it sound like I have bird nests and beehives in my hair that I don't know about!

“Who the fuck are you to judge?!”I demanded to know.

“Why, I'm just your Evil Twin,”my reflection grinned back at me.

“Evil Twin”? I considered for a split second. Hell no, thankyouverymuch, I'm more than evil enough already. Besides, didn't they teach in elementary school that 2 negatives beget 1 positive? Hero-in-disguise ALERT! Probably time to change that truth-telling spell around the Gargoyle entrance too. It wears off every thousand years or so, & I haven't done maintenance in a pretty long time...

But the next words stopped my words in my throat.

“Come, your Inner Child is waiting for you,”the mirror image spoke to me, & extending a hand to me from out of the mirror.

Inner Child? Faced with my “Evil Twin”, how could I reject an offer like 'Inner Child'?!

I grasped the offered hand firmly & Evil Twin pulled me forwards until I had touched that SOLID silver barrier. One hard yank & I was through, into a world I'd only fantasized about for too long.
