Alright I'd posted this a few weeks back because it came to me and I was just dying to write it. However I noticed a few flaws in it originally. I didn't think the ages I'd first chosen were appropriate for the content in this story. I had chosen to set it in a high school environment, but realized it was a little unrealisitic, so I've changed the characters ages and it now takes place in a university setting. I like the idea of this story, so that's why I'm posting it. I am totally working on To You I Belong a 110%, but when I need a break from it I have to work on something else. So please, please let me know what you think about this one also. If you've previously read this you can re-read it and tell me if the changes are better. I had originally titled it You Should Be Mine, but after listening to Jordin Sparks' Battlefield, found that title much more appropriate :) Let me know what you think!
Chapter One:
Jadyn
I was going to do it. I couldn't bare the thought of losing him, not after 3 long years. We'd been together since the end of sophomore year in high school. I was nervous, but I knew this is what he wanted. Maybe it wasn't something I particularly wanted right now, but I'd do what I had to.
“Jadyn!” I heard the familiar voice of my best friend, Nikki Henders. We'd known each other since 3rd grade, when she'd moved and we'd been inseparable since. Nikki was several inches taller than me, her pixie cut hair was blond with black highlights. She never had to wear much make-up because she had an almost perfect complexion or as perfect as a complexion can be. She was by far one of the prettiest girls I knew.
“Hey!” I smiled giving her a quick hug. Me on the other hand, I think I was more average in my opinion. I was short, only 5'3. I usually kept my long dark brown layered hair straight, occasionally curling it or something. Nikki kept bugging me about getting it highlighted, saying a little blond and red would do a number...but Jason said he liked my hair just the way it was. “How was your weekend?”
“Oh it was great. Nicholas came down from school to spend it with me.” Nikki gushed about her boyfriend. He was Nicholas Patrick, three years older than us, and they'd been dating as long as me and Jason had been. Nikki and I attended a local somewhat smaller of a university while Nicholas had gone to a bigger university over 6 hours away. “And he gave me all of his undivided attention.”
“That's great!” I grinned pulling my book bag out of my car . I liked going to Cedar University because the housing around was decent priced and tuition wasn't nearly as high as bigger schools. “I have a confession...”
But before I could manage to tell Nikki my plans for that weekend, Jason Robertson wrapped his arms around me from behind. I grinned and turned giving him a small peck on the cheek. I was thankful we'd called and made up last night after the huge argument we'd gotten in earlier that day. An argument I wasn't ready to remember.
“Hey babe.” Jason smiled down at me. I had yet to tell him about the weekend I was planning. I wanted it to be a surprise. “I know you usually say no, but I thought I'd try again...practice? You gonna watch?”
“You know I can't, you know I'm trying to get a part time job, it's getting hard affording the rent...” I cringed as he rolled he eyes and let go of me. I wanted deperately to make him happy but he always asked things at the wrong time and never seemed to understand it.
“Yea, yea...whatever. I'll just give up.” He growled pulling farther away from me. I tried to grasp his hand but he'd pulled it away too fast. “Hell I might as well give up on us...shouldn't I?”
“Jason...please not here...” I started but was interrupted as I heard some oohs and awes coming from another vehicle. I turned to see what the commotion was about.
When I looked I saw a fairly tall dark haired male getting out of an expensive convertible, catching the eyes of not only the girls but the guys too. He had to be at least 6', he was wearing faded blue jeans, dark shirt with a leather jacket and had a pair of sunglasses perched on his nose.
“Who is that?” I asked out of curiosity. It was fairly rare for one person, male or female to catch the attention of practically everyone in the same area. I mean he was attractive, really attractive, but I wasn't staring for that.
“You're kidding me right?” I heard Nikki ask wide-eyed. I shrugged, I didn't keep up with this stuff. “He's Dayton Anderson, THE Dayton Anderson...you know America's newest heartthrob? He's doing a reality show, where he goes from one college to another for a month or two at a time participating like he was a student, he shot to fame in high school and missed out on college.”
“Really?” I asked a little amused. I don't particularly think I'd miss the place enough to revisit it...but then again Nikki did say he'd never got the experience... Well he'd know soon enough.
“Yea! It's actually really exciting that he picked CU.” Nikki smiled big as Dayton Anderson walked by us. Nikki gave a fan girl HI and he turned his head ever so slightly and glanced as us over his shades before continuing on. Can you say jerk? He obviously thought that he was some big shot when I hadn't ever heard of him...ok so apparently everybody but me had...but still you can't be “America's Heartthrob” if even one girl doesn't at least know who are...but whatever. “But no one has a chance with him, he's in a serious, I mean very serious relationship with some girl...I can't think of what her name is, but he suppose to be madly in love with her. I think I'm closer to getting Nick to watch a couple of his movies with me.”
“Whatever...I gotta go.” I heard Jason say so I turned back to him giving him a small peck on the cheek as I hurried in so I wouldn't be late for class. He nodded and leaned down kissing my cheek in return but I'd barely felt his lips touch my cheek.

Dayton
“Welcome to Cedar University. I'm Ms. Miles and I've be designated as your advisor...or in your case more of a guide.” The semi young professor smiled standing as I walked into a small office. She wasn't but maybe in her mid to late 30s, and I will admit she was a very attractive older woman. I flashed her a playful smile and I knew she had to of blushed.
“It's a pleasure to be here Ms. Miles.” I continued to smile at her as I removed my sunglasses knowing that aside from my smile, it was the eyes that made girls melt the most. “But even better to get to spend some time in this great college.”
I was sugar coating, I know, but hey it's what I do best. If they were under the age of forty or looked under the age of forty they were easily mesmerized by my charm.
“You've already received your schedule. If you have any problems, please feel free to get hold of me. My email and office hours are here.” She said as she handed me a sheet a paper. “You have a couple of my classes also. Is there any questions you have?”
“Thank you, and no, no questions.” I smiled again at her as I stood up from my seat. After I was back in the hallway my iphone vibrated. I looked down at it and smiled at the goofy image of the most important girl in my life...Adrian Kellie Nichols, my girlfriend of 2 years.
“Hey baby.” I smiled into the phone as I answered. If there was one thing that could have stopped me from doing this reality show it would have been her.
“Hey sweetie! Do you miss me yet?” She asked playfully making me grin. “Anyway...honestly I just wanted to hear your voice and make sure everything was going great for you.”
“Yes I missed you the second I left your house before I started this show.” I couldn't stop smiling. “And yes my trip was great...I gotta go though, but I'll call you later. Love you.”
As I hung up the phone I bumped into someone who was in a hurry and having been looking down I hadn't seen her approaching. She dropped her books and I bent down to help her as she scrambled to gather them up. She was jumpy and after she'd picked up the last book, I noticed one more thing lying on the ground. I snatched it up just before she could and I couldn't help but smirk. She went to snatch it out but I pulled back before she could. Lucky for the girl, we weren't actually filming the show yet. That wouldn't start until next week. I'm sure this would have been horrifying.
“Hm...looks like you have some plans for sometime soon.” I smirked at her once more when I saw her cheeks turn crimson. “I wonder who the lucky boy is?”
“That's none of your business. You don't even know me to ask questions like that.” She growled finally snatching it out of my hand. I was a little intrigued, she was giving me attitude instead of melting under my penetrating gaze. Before I could say much more, she was scrambling down the hall paying no attention to much. I watched her from my squat until she disappeared around the corner.

Jadyn
I couldn't believe the nerve of that guy. Coming in here thinking he's some big shot and putting his nose into others peoples business. Jerk. I hated him already. I was enjoying my break for lunch and everything was fine until I heard some giggles. I didn't have to look to see who, but when I did his eyes were right on me, and that familiar smirk was being directed at me. I saw my friends give me confused expressions as Dayton Anderson winked at me as he passed.
“Ok, what the hell was that?” Our friend Carissa asked shooting me a questioning look. “Did Dayton Anderson just wink at you Jad?”
“No. I mean no way. I don't even know him...I mean he must have been looking at you or something.” I said rushed. I was already embarrassed over the whole ordeal I didn't want to draw more attention to it. “He must have been hitting on you, you know boys tend to drool over you.”
“You really think so?” Carissa grinned at the thought and she turned her attention to Dayton than let out a disappointed sigh. “It's no use...he's already taken.”
Once the table started conversing amongst each other I turned to Jason who was stuffing his face.
“So Jason, can I ask you something?” I asked nervous as hell. He merely nodded and continued stuffing his face. I sighed, this would be all he'd give me when he was eating. “If you don't have any plans, I was wondering if this Friday night we could go out?”
“Hm, sure. What do you want to do?” He asked as he nodded.
“Well I don't know yet...maybe I'll surprise you...” It was all I could say without completely losing it. He gave me a quick glance, but nodded anyway.

I had decided to set as close to the girl, just to see if she was really going to go through with what I was guessing she was planning. I mean I didn't know if it would be the first time or something, but I was still curious. I heard her friends ask her what had just happened and if I'd really winked at her. I grinned as I listened to her deny it and make it out that I had winked at her friend, instead of her.
“...this Friday night we could go out?” I gave her a sideways glance and looked at the boy she'd directed it to. Her boyfriend no doubt. Ok she was an attractive girl, ok she was very attractive but when I glanced at her so called boyfriend...well I found it hard to see why she was with him...it was obvious that she had to of gotten better offers. I wasn't meaning to be so truthful about it, but it was true. Besides he obviously wasn't paying that much attention to her. Every time Adrian talked to me, I made her the center of my world and paid little attention to anything else. I grinned at the surprise thing. It was definitely a first time...then my phone vibrated. Adrian.
“Hey babe.” I said as I answered. I couldn't wait to see her that weekend. I hadn't been able to see her much at all since I'd started this reality show. That's why I couldn't wait for this weekend, I was planning the most romantic weekend for the two of us.
“Hey sweetie.” She said cheerfully. “How is the whole show going? I can't wait until it airs this summer. I'll definitely DVR every episode.”
“It's not too bad, I hate being separated from you for long periods of time. I don't like sleeping without my cuddle bug.” I grinned at my somewhat of a nickname I'd given her. “You're still coming this weekend right?”
“Of course! I miss my snuggles more and more every day. The apartment gets lonely most nights.” Adrian had given me the nickname Snuggles, yes Snuggles, and I enjoyed every letter of it. “Oh shoot, I hate to go, but I have a runway to get to. Call me later?”
“Every night.” I grinned. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” Then we hung up. After the call ended I couldn't help but feel my heart drop some. I knew a lot of things I'd experienced here would be put on TV at the end of the school year, but I had been animated about having the weekend camera free. Of course I had to explain to my manager exactly what I'd been planning, and he agreed, of course he said it would be better publicity if a camera was waiting on the sidelines before and after the whole evening. But I wanted it to be private. Something me and Adrian could share by ourselves. He said that we wouldn't start the taping until the following week. I glanced down at the box I'd pulled out of my pocket and flipped it open....
