A warm gooey substance stained my hand as I put pressure on my arm. My sight was blurry so the color and the smell made it obvious that it was blood. I felt the blood leaving a puddle under me.

This is how most people die though, shot in the wrong place at the wrong time. A feeling of dread came over me as I realized the pain would only continue, and my life slowly edged to a mere existence. I almost wished, no, I did wish that the shotwas vital so I didn't have to go through all this pain, so that my death was instant. Perhaps that was the point. Perhaps I was shot in the arm for the pleasure of somebody, someone who would watch my agony, to watch my slow painful death.

More pain shot up my arm as I tried to move. God, oh God! Why? Why leave me in this pain, when I could go to you without incident? Just end it!

As I thought these words, I was nearly blind now.

"So in the end I lose my sight. The sight of beautiful and ugly, clear and color." My words were shaky but I understood them clearly. Life without beauty, there simply is no such thing.

"Hannah!"

Words of the unspoken.

"Hannah! Hannah!" A boys voice called me in the darkness. He sounded like he was going through puberty since his voice was deep, but not yet to its deepest point. "Don't leave me!"

The boys arms cradled me. My sight came back slightly, enough to see a shadow over me.

"I'm not going anywhere yet," I whispered.

I felt a droplet of water splash on my cheek. The boy was crying. "Somebody! Anybody, please! Call a doctor, an ambulence! Help!"

I smiled at the thought of someone coming to help me, but I knew they'd be too late. My time was now.

I closed my eyes and began to drift into nothingness.
