It was the first day of school for fourteen years old Rin Josette Lee. This is the second year for her in Sabine Laurent Secondary School. As she ran through the school gates and past the security guards, the familiar faces of her classmates smiled and waved at her. “Morning! Are you late again? How was your holidays?” they greeted her. “Nice to see you guys again! I can’t stop right now, I’m late!” she turned her head and shouted back at them. Her long black hair with a few streaks of pink highlights in her fringe ran down her back flying in the breeze.

“Where is she? Is she late?” two girls could be seen waiting for their friend in the school hall. One of them was tall with a short black bob while the other was slightly shorter with long straight black hair with a few red streaks and a china-doll cut fringe. They were caught up with the waiting of their friends that they did not notice that they were being photographed. “Terawat, how do you feel since this is the first time you’re in this school? Is this like the school back in Thailand? A male teacher with glasses asked him.

“No, this is very different back in Thailand but I can also get to be part of the school’s photography club and taking pictures on my first day of school is really exiting!” he answered the teacher. “I’m glad that you are having fun, keep up with the good work.” The teacher said and walked away. As he was preparing to shoot another photo of the school’s first day of school, a voice got his attention. “Hey guys!” Rin shouted as she ran up to the two waiting girls. “What happened to you? You’re late!” they asked her as she beamed at them. Terawat’s eyes were wide open and unknowingly, he raised the camera and took a picture of them.

A camera flash caught their eyes and they turned too looked. Terawat lowered the camera and stared at them. “You’re taking a picture? Are we blocking your view?” Rin asked him. He was stunned for words but he shook his head. “He must be taking our picture!” the girl with the black bob, Jennifer Laetitia Lim exclaimed. “Really, how fun!” the shorter girl, Adele Chanel Tang said happily. The three of them gave a V sign with their fingers and smiled at him. ‘Ding Dong~’ the sound of the school bell rang. Quickly, they stopped posing and ran to find their class. Terawat looked at them as they ran to search for their class. He was curious about the girl with pink streaks in her hair.

After the opening ceremony for the first day of school, they were sent back to their respective classes to familiarize themselves with their new class and teachers. The three girls chose to take their seat at the back of the class. Since the class was arranged to be two tables in rows of three, they simply pulled their tables and chairs and joined the together at the back of the class since the class was also pulling tables to formed their own little groups. Over to where Terawat was, his classroom was neatly organized and he was seated on the third row alone. Since there are not many students who are qualified to enter to be in the express education class, students must either be gifted or talented to enter this class for higher academic studies.

“Well than class, let’s begin by introducing yourselves to your new class. As you all know that you are gifted and talented to be able to be in this class so let’s work hard altogether for this year!” the teacher said. “I’ll start off first, alright? I’m Benoit Hughes Lee and I’ll turn twenty five this year.” After introducing himself, he pointed to Terawat “Alright, now it’s your turn Terawat.” Terawat stood up and looked down at the floor. “Come on, my boy. Don’t be shy!” Mr. Lee encouraged him. Gathering his confidence and courage, he spoke red-faced and looked up to face the class. “My name is Naoki Terawat. I am 16 this year and I came from Thailand. It’s a pleasure to meet all of you and be your classmate.” After saying that, he quickly sat down and looked at his table.

“Don’t be shy Terawat; in this class there is also foreign students who are older than you too. Okay, let’s move on to the next student.” The teacher said and pointed to another student. In Rin’s classroom, their teacher, Mr. Kenny Roland was having the introduction by taking the class attendance. “Next is Miss Jennifer Laetitia Lim, will you stand up and begin your introduction?” Jennifer stood up and begins her introduction. “I’m Jennifer and I like the color blue! I like things that are cute and blue!” after she finished she sat down while her two partners were giggling at her. “Okay, Miss Lim, that’s a nice introduction but I must say that hairstyle of yours is not suitable for the school’s image.” Hearing this, Jennifer was scowling and shooting daggers at him.

“Miss Adele Chanel Tang, you’re up next.” “I’m Adele and I love Winnie the Pooh! I also love cute things! I also loved shopping!” she finished and sat down. “Miss Tang, your hair is not acceptable for the school’s system, so is your uniform. We have rules in this school Miss Tang.” Adele pouted and stared angrily at him. “Miss Rin Josette Lee.” Rin put up her hand and said: “I’m here!” She stood up and began: “I’m Rin and I loved fashion. I also love shopping and fluffy cute things that are pink; well they don’t have to be in pink. I loved to design my own clothes as I have a unique sense of style. I also customize my uniform as this show off my personality and who I am.” She sat down and smirked at the teacher while giving her friends a thumb up.

For three years they studied in this school causing a few havoc and controversies. Terawat wanted to talk to Rin a lot but he did not have the courage and confidence to do it. He could only look at her during lunch in the cafeteria where she and her friends sat where they would entertained each other or laughed together. After three years, they graduated and Terawat left the country to fly backed to Thailand. He wished that he could be able to see and finally get to talk to her. All he had are picture albums of her during the three years of his study there. He no longer saw Rin again or knows what happened to her but he did not know that his little wish is going to come true.
