A/N: Ten years after Galen’s first letter.
Part 3
Blade’s letter confirmed it, every last rouge vampire was dead. For the first time in years, Galen felt at peace. He smiled up at the sun flittering through the curtains of his open window in his cabin.
“They’re gone, Nadia. They’re really all gone.” he whispered and a light breeze came through and caressed his face. “I’m happy too, Twin.”
Sighing happily, he wrote back to Blade, telling him he was as glad as Blade they were gone.
Dear Blade,
I am relieved they’re all dead. It took damned long enough. It was a pleasure working with you. You’ve been like a brother to me and for that I thank you.
We won’t see each other again. I promised Nadia I’d be with her once this was finished and I intend to keep my promise. Say goodbye to Whistler for me. Lord knows she’ll want to shoot me herself if she found out I was writing this.
Goodbye Blade, it was an honour.
Galen.
Satisfied with the letter, he sent it back to headquarters. The others had tried and failed to come up with a cure, thus burdening Galen and Blade with what they were for years, leaving them to just accept what they were and move on.
He climbed into the shower and quickly washed himself. If he was going to be reunited with his sister, he wanted to look his best. The red headed vampire got out of the shower after ten minutes and dried himself off. He grabbed his clothes and put on his black jeans and white button down shirt.
Running a comb through his hair, he walked to the front door, preparing himself to be burned alive by the rays of the sun.
Taking one last look around his cabin, he smiled and opened the door.
He stepped out of his sanctuary and felt the breeze on his face for a mere few moments before the sun started burning away his flesh. He didn’t scream or shy away in agony from it.
A single tear slid down his burning cheek and his smile remained on his face.
I’m coming home, Nadia. I’m finally coming home.
