A little poem I wrote one day while sitting by the ocean : )

I sit

At the edge of the world

My back to certainty,

My eyes on the hazy horizon.

Brilliant blue stretches across the sky,

Like a ceiling enclosing a room,

Holding the world within its brilliance.

The wind whistles in my ear,

Catching the murmuring of voices,

The cries of seagulls

And blowing them away;

Past the silent boulders,

Standing over the beach like sentinels;

Past the wise trees,

Swaying like majestic dancers,

Past the rooftops and cars,

Rumbling like the metal birds in the sky,

And the metal fish on the water.

I sit

Amongst strolling couples,

Amongst serenity,

Amongst the restless sea,

Stretching on forever into eternity.
