River

A red river
With an unusual shimmer.
It brings chills to my spine
Every time we entwine.
The water stains the dirt
With a liquid of unusual sort.
The strange water sticks to the soil,
And is thick like icky oil.
Skulls shimmer from beneath
At the river deep.
The forest around is black,
And tall trees fall with a crack.
Nothing lives here.
Nothing won’t come near.
A red river…
