Prologue

“…And that’s it for the week weather forecast. In other news, another attack was reported just last night. A fifteen year old child was found unconscious in his house, covered in cuts and bruises as if beaten. The police were contacted when the mother of the child went into his room that night. The mother is currently being questioned. The child lies in a comatose state in a nearby hospital, his injuries serious but not fatal.

“This attack is the third in recent weeks, including the attack on another child and the homeless man. Police are on the search for the assaulter, and advise everyone to lock your doors and stay indoors after dark. If you have seen any suspicious activity or person, please call the police immediately. Any and all help and cooperation will be most appreciated. In the meantime, the police advise that everyone stay indoors…”
