Ruin

Prologue

The air is thin and smoggy. The cities are a forgotten abyss. The towns are scorched fields. The playgrounds are mere scrap metal. Radiation sits in the earth like unmovable objects. The world was at war.

The date was 2087, and they heard the siren. The siren that made their hearts stop. Just for one second, just one simple second. Then it was black. This was not a bomb, nor an explosion, it was a destroyer, a man made mistake. Einstein should have thought twice before it all was gone, every last breath.

Man should have thought twice before their corrupted souls even thought of such suicide. Man’s power turned into destruction. This destruction made earth something to frown upon, their land in rubble from ignorant minds. These selfish men and woman thought destruction was power. The thing they didn’t understand was that destruction prevents power. Destruction prevents everything.

They sat in their rooms filled with expensive worthless objects that make them feel superior like nothing happened, and then they realize something. They realize this wasn’t worth it and it was too late, it was too late for all of them. Those people were too late, they were all too late.

Time is too precious; one second makes all the difference, just one simple second. That second was their lives on the line. That second was the most powerful thing in the world at that moment. Then it was all gone.

When someone hits you, you hit them back. That’s what happened here. Aggressive took over the field. Lives didn’t matter except those leaders. So caught up in victory that they didn’t realize how much was on the line. They didn’t realize anything. Their minds filled with rage and frustration. The people were the chess pieces that moved and got defeated one after another. It was a game in their minds, basic strategy. But it was much more.

Then the kings started to get defeated. Dying with their oblivious people that were too innocent and care free to realize what the big picture was. It all happened so fast, so quickly. It all happened in those few hours. Those hours that meant the world to some people.

This war was pure chaos.
