Here I sit--
Cowering in my corner,
Out of my weakness,
My fear.

While you're high upon your throne,
Amused by my despair,
And from your mouth spills,
Your bitter laugh,
You've always found humor,
In things you shouldn't have.

But even as you berate me
No one else will take me
Again I must succumb
Even to one I loathe
And yet even long for..

But don't think for a second,
That because you are loved,
You are also acquitted,
Of all the murder and sins you've committed.

You've slain the dreams of many and
Captured their hopes within your collection jar,
Scattered the ashes of their happiness,
Over your raging fire.

But, even as I try to hate you,
I know I can never escape you,
For who else will take me,
So disgraceful, so desperate?

And here now I proceed,
With my confession:
I love you. Truly I love
You.

I realize I'm needy
You may laugh, but
Should you ever leave me,
There's one thing I'll have you know.

Out of my sadness,
My faith--
Here I'll wait
In my corner.

Except,
I'll cower
No longer.
