Pull Me Under, Take Me Out”

By: Phoebe Melinda Halliwell

Underwater, drowning seems

inevitable, especially since I can’t

swim at all. I open my eyes.

A light is in front of me, it’s

so warm. It feels as though

I haven’t even gone under.

*~*

I don’t mind this feeling

of being completely helpless,

strange…

*~*

The light is taking form –

the form of a beautiful,

graceful, brown-eyed

goddess.

*~*

Earth Angel, are you

here to pull me out

or make my demise

more pleasurable?

*~*

I take your hands, suddenly

gasping, surprised that I can

breathe. I feel water enter my

lungs as I loosen my grip.

*~*

Maybe I can only reach the

surface with you holding

on…
