Of Holding Hands and Butterfly Stomachs

They are everywhere

These couples holding hands

Giving one another a teddy bear

And wearing some cheesy ‘forever’ band

Butterflies corrupt the stomach of some girl

When her crush gives her that look

I think I’m going to hurl

As he feeds her some line from a book

I’ve been there, done that

Even watch it all shatter

Like a mirror hit by a bat

Does it all even matter?

Why try and build up so much

Since it’ll cost you more than a shiny dime

So you can go out on some hunch

And hope the relationship won’t just be a waste of time

I personally think it’s kinda a waste

With everyone always talking about it

The popularity making it thick like a paste

Some of them seemingly begging to be hit

Btu then there’s the chance

That you’ll find yourself a man

Maybe he’ll even ask you to dance

You won’t have to beat him off with a frying pan

If this is so

Hold onto him tight

Don’t let him go

Put up a winning fight

For he might give you

All of his sweet, sweet kisses

Maybe eventually love you too

Which’ll be great after all those misses
