Chapter 1: A Grim Metting
Taking place in the midieval era, about the 1800's, this story is filled with adventure, comedy, and romance. Happy reading! DUCES MA NIGGAZ!
"Oh, that was amazing!"
"How does thou accomplish such things?"
"You must teach me, Sir Kristopher!" The chants and praise all came from small town children, who had been watching a swordsman practicing his maneuvering and swings nearby the marketplace in a , or as others call him 'Sir Kristopher', had been dubbed by the towns people as the greatest swordsman in all the land. Though it is true that many glorified his vast knowledge in his swordsmanship skills, there were many who were envious of him, waiting for him to fail miserably at what he nearly mastered. But of course, his downfall was indeed to come upon the young lad… more sooner then later.
“It is all very simple, children.” Kristopher began.
“To achieve one’s greatness, one has to assure himself that though is at his greatest peek.” The children nodded, some passer by’s eyeing the small group as they went along their business.
“You also have to acquire intelligence. Though seems to lack it, ey?” A feminine voice arose. The children looked don over and gasped at the comment while others stayed silent, some even backing away. Kristopher turned to speak to who had spoken such indecency, but fell silent. This woman… she was far more different from the other dames that his eyes fell upon. Her clothing, a faded gold and black tunic, hugged her figure elegantly, yet a belt hung at her waist, a skin pouch containing various items inside hung from a single tied knot. Her brunette hair was tied into a pony tail, strands of the silky threads hanging over her eyes. Compared to the uptight and sophisticated woman in the town she was entirely different, even her posture was to speak of. Her hips pointed to the side as her hazel eyes burned on Kristopher sharply.
“Plan to speak?” She asked. The swordsman, blinking, focused his attnetion to the odd looking woman.
“Kind woman, does not thou have market matters to attend to?”
“Market matters? You have surely mistaken me, for I have not come forth to venture the marketplace. I have come to set forth a challenge.”
“A challenge?”
“Indeed.”
“Against whom?” Now the woman straightened up her head, a dry laugh escaping her plump lips.
“Does thou see another soul with me?” She responded. Kristopher was now bewildered, gasps and side whispers commencing from the circle of adults and children that formed around the two.
“This must be a joke. No man, and certainly a mere defenseless female can defeat me in a duel.” He stated proudly. A devilish smile appeared on the woman’s lips, telling him otherwise.“
Oh? So you are meaning to tell me tat a man such as yourself cannot partake in a fairly easy duel? It seems to me that you are nothing but a yellow-bellied coward.” She pat out. Gasps came about from the ‘audience’ as they watched, Kristopher’s cheeks turning red form anger.
“If it is a duel you request, then have at it, woman. May I be the one to grant your death wish.” Chatter grew once more before they hushed themselves, the woman’s grin growing. She seemed hungry for a duel.
“Excellent.” Gazing over yonder, she spotted another male, in which also carried a sword.
“You there! Bring forth your weapon!” Her voice, though notably feminine, had a dash of authority, keeping her head high as she spoke. The man did as he was instructed and handed the sword to the woman. Both Kristopher and herself had gotten into a battle position, arching an eyebrow as he smirked.
“Well now, may I least know the name of my next victim?” He asked
.“Victim…” The woman laughed dryly.
“I am Aleatta Slate, of Izrect.” Proudly, she nodded as she spoke, her eyes never leaving Kristopher’s.
“Shall we?” Kristopher, although unsure about what exactly he was getting into, chuckled lightly.
“It would be my pleasure.” With that he raced towards Aleatta with his sword raised, gasps and cries coming from the audience as both swords clashed together as Aleatta held up hers upward in defense. She smirked, which caught the swordsman off balance.
“Do I shock you?” She asked. Kristopher grunted, both him and Aleatta exerting force against the swords.
“Not at all.” he responded. Her smirk grew even wider as her eyes flickered lilac for a moment, and a rush of electricity flowed to her sword and onto Kristopher’s sword, reaching his body and lurching him backwards a few feet until he landed flat on his back, a groan escaping his throat.
“Do I shock you now?” She laughed. The crowd gasped, stepping back as they were surprised at what the mere female had done. Kristopher, of course, was caught off guard with her actions and therefore sat up in awe.
“You… you’re a mage!” he managed to exclaim. Aleatta laughed, afterwards taking a few steps towards him, pointing the sword to his neck.
“Of course I am, why else in bloody hell would I challenge you to a duel?” She hissed. Kristopher parted his lips to speak, but after a moment of quick thinking, swiftly swung his right leg to her ankles making the mage lose her balance and fall backwards. The swordsman jumped to his feet and grabbed his sword, Aleatta doing the same as they both circled each other.
“Hmph. You’re smarter then I thought you would be.” Aleatta replied, glaring at him. Kristopher chuckled at that comment.
“Aye. You’re not that bad yourself.” “Indeed. It is too bad you are about to lose this duel.”
“How so?” Aleatta smirked, laughing elegantly. Without responding to his question she threw out her hand, pointing it at Kristopher’s sword. Afterwards she pointed towards a nearby tree and without any hesitation the sword flew out of Kristopher’s grip and was plunged into the tree.
“Goodness!”
“What a mage!”
“Stay behind us, children!” The crowd was amazed by Aleatta’s abilities, never the less afraid of her as well. The young swordsman was wide- eyed, and never noticed the mage charge towards him until it was too late. Kristopher was pinned to the ground and the blade of Aleatta’s sword was pressed against his throat, a devilish smile plastered on her lips. She had won the duel.
“Well well well, it seems that the almighty swordsman has backed down on his word, no? Though I indeed underestimate thee.” She stated. Kristopher growled. How in hells name did he let this happen?! A mere mage, a FEMALE mage, had defeated him all in the matter of five minutes. Impossible!
“Guile woman.”
“The better to kill you with, my dear.” A silence grew in the audience and Kristopher’s eyed burned into Aleatta’s, afterwards the mage removing he sword from Kristopher’s throat.
“You prove to be skillful, yet you lack knowledge of survival. I will not kill you, but you shall pay the consequences for your actions.”
“What bloody actions?!”
“Hasn’t your mother ever taught you not to strike a lady?” Kristopher once again felt silent. Yes, yes, what she said was actually true. And here he was, pinned to the ground and almost killed by the act of it.
“Tell me good sir, what should your punishment be?” She asked. Kristopher wanted to escape at that moment as embarrassment over took him. How he will ever live with this, he did not know.
“I beg of thee, take my life. I will not bear the misery of my defeat.” He managed to say. Aleatta laughed to herself, shifting her body position so that she ended sitting on his stomach, a grunt coming from Kristopher’s lips.
“Although the idea is tempting, I do not wish to attempt the deed…. Now. Far too harsh, I believe. I shall be your mistress until I saw otherwise. You shall do what I tell you, and if you try to escape, I will gladly kill you.” She told him.
“Do you understand me?” Kristopher did not respond, and so Aleatta clutched his jaw with full force.
“I asked if you UNDERSTOOD me.” Kristopher growled, but finally responded.
“Yes… Mistress.”
