“Let go of the remote Andrew! I wanna watch the news.” Said 7 year old Billy who was Andrew’s twin brother.

“NO! I wanna watch cartoons!”

Sounds of fighting drifted into the kitchen where their parents were still eating their dinner.

“Boys stop fighting!” called their mother, Erin Russell “share the tv! Billy goes first! It’s his birthday anyways.”

“Fine mom” the boys chorused.

“Hah” sneered Billy while changing the channel to channel 5.

“-and now we go live to Sally Parker in Washington Research Lab.”

“A report has been released of a very deadly and contagious new virus. Scientists report it is nothing like they have seen before. The genetic structure is made so somehow it kills only people over 15. It is nonlethal to people under 15. There is more information but it is classified.

Washington Research Lab

“Mr. President what brings you here?” said the scientist.
“ I have to see that virus report.”

“Alright please follow me.

Silence hung in the air as they walked to the bottom level of the building.

“The reason that it only affects people over 13 is not the only reason it’s unique you know.” Quipped the scientist

“How?”asked the president.

“It gives people under 13 superpowers.”

“What!”Exclaimed the president.

“We have recently discovered tiny growths in the head, arms, legs, stomach, and skin in people under 13. It somehow mutates those growths and they get superpowers but at a terrible cost.”

“I have 3 questions. One, why does it still affect people over 13? And two what happens to the people under 13? And three, what superpowers are they?”Questioned the president.

“The growths act like buffers for the virus. As you grow older from 13 the growths grow weaker and after you turn roughly 15 the growths fail. And to your second question it takes the age of the victim, multiplies it by two, and takes away that many years of the victim’s life. After you turn 13 you still experience the symptoms but you don’t die. And lastly, for your third question the superpowers develop according to the age of the infected. You develop super strength when you are 1-4 years old. You develop super speed when you are 4-8. And lastly you get an intelligence boost when you are 8-13 years old. “Answered the scientist.

“What are the symptoms?”

“Muscle failure, loss of vision, heart failure, immune system weakening, and IQ drop, basically everything that is around a growth fails or weakens.

“Ahh we’re here.”

“I’ll leave you alone now Mr. President.”

The scientist walked away.

Meeting Room in Washington Research Lab

“Alright we’ll take roll call now,” said the head scientist.

Groans were heard around the table.

“ Come on guys this is important! If someone were missing they could defect and launch a terrorist attack.”

“Herth Granges.”

“Here”

And so roll call went on.

“Mitchy Rubel”

Silence.

“Mitchy!”

“If this is a joke this is not funny!”

Still silence.

“Was Mitchy here today?”

A man spoke up.”Yeah I think so.”

“OH MY FRICKIN GOD! YOU, CHECK THE STORE ROOM FOR THE VIRUS!”

5 minutes later he came back, face pale.

“2 cases of the virus are gone.” And with that he collapsed on the floor.

Chaos reigned.
