Let fire be the war and death in us all,
Let fire be the defense and agony of many.
Fire is quenched by water.
Let water be life and happiness,
Water renews and feeds.
Water is supported by
Earth, the foundation of all things
Let earth support and feed with water,
Let earth be beauty and stand against
Wind, the lifeblood of all things
Let wind breathe unto all
Wind makes and destroys
Beating against all things, feeding fire, whipping water, beating earth madly
Anger and sadness and excitement are wind and fire, they shall walk together and share destruction and what few good things come of themselves
Happiness and joy, and new birth come of water and earth. Water and earth shall be together as sisters, close siblings, beautiful and terrifying at once. Let them be supportive of each other
Earth shall grow itself, vines shall burst from the soil, roots burrow deep into their home, supported by
Water, which shall support waterlife, fish and water-plants and small, tiny pieces of earth, and let water relieve
Fire, which burns and hurts earth, killing vines and roots, but warming the cold, cold frozen ice and snow, being in agony, burning itself. The cool touch of
Wind shall whip fire along, destroying and feeding all pieces of earth, the breathing oxygen of all beings, destruction and health. Wind is sad and angry and excited, being with and hating fire.
These are the elements. Supporting and destroying, few things contradict themselves as much as these. They live, never dying, just weakening, then becoming stronger.
