Monster

A monster rises up at night

He snarls and growls and screams

Desperately running

She trips

He grabs her leg

Gnarled, hairy claws

Pull down on twisted knee

She tries to kick away

Grasps something, anything

Just to escape

But the monster pulls harder

And down she falls

Into the dark abyss

And then with glint of yellowed eye

The monster swallows her whole
