Mosaic

I’ve read a lot of sad poems
written a few myself

Lately I just want to cut them up
those broken little pieces
from those pale failing souls

cut out every dear hurting word
save love
since its common to all
whether implied or said

lost love
bad love
unrequited
yearned for
eternal

I want to take those loves and tape them together
into the shape of a heart
and there, in the center, I’d paste a picture of us
