Mindless snakes outstretch

Clammy tentacles to strangle intruders, their muted screams swallowed

In the churning stomach of the sea.

Battle cries echo, monster after

Monster crashes into the shore, wrestling

And tumbling among rivers of silt.

Stranded serpents writhe helplessly, fang-lined

Mouths gasp in a dieing hiss, coal black eyes roll back as

The abyss drags them in.

Wounded minions pulled into her frigid embrace

The sea coos false praise in their ears, saccharine lullabies to lull

Them to sleep forever.

Her dark eyes betray no affection as she

Spins her snakes cocoons of blue sky and water, discarding

Them among the bones of the lost.

Skeletal fingers weave armies of fluid snakes

Out of air and water, molding new soldiers to do her bidding –

Wave cycle.
