"You want into my mind,
And I want into yours.
Shall we make a trade?"
I laughed at what I said,
And stared into the eyes of Slade
A smile spreads across his face,
But it doesn't reach his eyes
I can tell he's wearing a mask
It's no longer a surprise
If I had known what he was hiding
If I had truly read his mind
Would I have been at all frightened
At the things I'd surely find?
I think I would still love him
These feelings run too deep
They're in my heart, in my blood
And if he gazed into my mind
That would be what he would find
I smile sadly and think about that time
When we wished we were mind readers
