They were once friends.
Back when one knew how to laugh,
And the other knew how to love.

Tiptoeing around in their new frocks,
Pretending to be princesses
Like their Barbie dolls.
Together, fighting crime –
One would always be Blossom
And the other Buttercup.

They grew like a double cherry,
One the little sister,
And the other was her conscience.
When they ever fell-out,
One would always make-up,
The other would always forgive her.

But even the great Pyramids of Egypt
Can be weathered away,
The Golden Gate Bridge
Could rust. And
Eventually, the Tower of Pisa
Will crumble.

Separated.
By hurt, anger, hatred, jealousy, egoism and
The other chosen,
Left one hanging, forgotten.

Now nothing is the same, nothing
Will be the same.
And all that is left
Are the photos, and the gifts, and the letters and
The unforgettable Memories.

There was once a friendship
Stronger than any other.

Back when one still had a smile.
And the other still had a heart.
