Angel kisses and devil’s breath,
Birds flying backwards,
And the wind
Moves up and down.
High palm trees
Made of green paint
And brown swirls
They cheer
With the thought
That their leaves
Will never fall.
Flopping poppies
Their bright red colour
Now a dull pink
Sway
In a dance of love
And they sing
Of something
That can never be.
She watches
Eyes like sour milk
Tears flowing free
Fire rises like teeth
And bites down
Her screams
Are like that
Of a siren.
He slices
Skin and muscle spread
Blood sprays out
Staining his fancy clothes
But he laughs,
And laughs,
And laughs
All while his blood
Runs away from him.
The moon cries
Poisonous tears
That spill into the ocean
And sink all the way
To the bottom.
The ocean moans
Dying
And whispers,
“Moon, how could you?”
The sun rises
A bright orb of hope
And mourns
For the death of the ocean
He curses the moon
Vowing
A bitter hate.
Love and Hate
Once lovers
But now enemies
After told
That two different emotions
Can’t be together
At the same time.
