Old

Those hairs like cotton in his ears

I wonder if he hears me

Well it appears he does if he cares-

But only just barely.

The skin of her face is creased in odd places

The picture in the dictionary listing of decay is

An understated her. What I'm trying to say is

Old age friggin' scares me.

And while I don't want to get boring and useless

To slurp applesauce and be haggard and toothless

Im pretty sure hanging to life by a thread

Is better than being successful and dead.
