we - the soul. you tasted of tangy india and

chlorophyll; i of brisk air and pine forests.

-i am old enough to remember the times

when we surrounded the center of everything. fruitless

stabs at ecosystem and artful coastlines left us

laughing, when underneath our blanket swam

a hive of blue beauty. the days when we devoured

meteors whole and sunk anything that got in our

way.

-now the sands have come between us, the

many grains that divide you from me. the aeons seemed
