If only to make you cry,
And see those glistening diamonds
Rolling down your ivory face
In perfect symmetry.
If only to hear your torment,
Voiced in screams of pain
Echoing through my mind
And never falling silent
If only to feel your pain,
Bittersweet agony blessed,
Filling the void inside me
Yet creating one in you.
I live to see your hatred
Falling forth in torrents
Sweeping me away
In a waterfall of agony.
I live to feel your suffering,
Engulfing me in excitement
Guiltily erasing pretenses
Slowly revealing myself
I live to hear your misery
That attacks me from all directions
Battering down my defenses
That I am exposed and cannot hide.
Here is what I am,
Through and through I lie,
Twisted to the core,
Though outside I'm quite smooth.
Your defeat and suffering feed me,
Perhaps I'm just a nightmare
Dwelling in your dark dreams
And living thus.
You may think I'm cruel,
The evolution that nature produced,
And I just may be the worst,
But I'll live this until I die.
When you're around me smile,
I'll shrivel up and wilt.
But when tragedy strikes, beware!
I'll be back again, stronger.
They call me an Angel of Death;
Wherever I go, there's grief.
You can try to befriend me,
But that won't save you.
Darkness draws me,
Angst guides me,
Torture ensnares me
And hijacks my senses.
What I do is wrong, perhaps,
But I'd like to see you stop me.
If there's one thing there's plenty of on this scarred Earth,
It's my nourishment of human woe.
Thus I leave you with this fond farewell:
Be wary of those like me.
For though you think you know yourself,
There are edible parts to everybody.
