C andles flicker in darkest night
H olly wreaths hung with berries bright
R inging bells, what news they bring
I n heavenly chorus, as Angels sing
S hepards on hilltops, Wise Men from abroad
T o honor the birth of Christ our Lord
M ary and Joseph with their newborn child
A n infant so holy, tender and mild
S avior born on Christmas Day
