the rain locks me speechless
mud miring my footsteps,
old shoes seeping water
into my morning feet.
food lingers in my mouth I
can no longer muster disgust
not when the world spins
so brilliantly
trees streaking silhouettes
like spiderwebs against
a snow-white sky.
