to tango with him is wonderful, even if he is dancing with the music and not really with me. Not really romantic, but I had to pick something. ;

tango
long, long, quick, quick, long
I feel you wanting to dance
though your eyes
have not left mine
I can see you
wrestling
with the music in your mind
a triumphant smile
I can tell
you've found it
the rhythm is yours
long, long, quick, quick, long
long fingers tap against my ribs
a silent question
I glance around, see others
writhing, swaying
in the un-dance of our days
my fingers slip into your hand
my unspoken answer
consent
my other arm slides around your back
finding the niche by your shoulder blade
as you pull me closer
pressing reassurance
against the small of my back
long, long, quick, quick, long
we breathe together for a moment
I close my eyes and fall in love
with the feeling of the lock-in
once more you tap the rhythm
your thumb against my knuckle
long, long, quick, quick, long
now you're gone again
lost in your music
leaving me alone
lost to all but your touch
for yours is the dance
but I am the dancer
you follow the music
while I follow your touch
long, long, quick, quick, long
together we dance
but not with each other
I'm in your arms
dancing with your touch
you're holding me
dancing with the music
both of us lost in the
long, long, quick, quick, long
tango
