Same Four Walls

Every time I try to escape

I end up right back here.

These four walls are closing in on me,

these same patterns suffocate.

I have spent forever

Dreaming of a world bigger than this,

more than shopping malls and fast food joints,

better than these same old streets.

I have been preparing for adventure.

Isn't it time

I get to live it?
