Author's Note: So this story has been up before under the name 'Spinning the Same Way' but I've rewritten it and changed it so I do hope that you have the chance to read and review all of it. The story is pretty much the same only it's being broken up into four parts following four different disciplines, six people and one dream. The main reason why I'm writing it is because there is no good skating fiction out there that I've come across, so I'm doing what I've always done—write what I've wanted to read. I hope to finish 'Silver Blades, Golden Dreams' before the end of the 2010 Olympics—but knowing my schedule and the other stories that I'm working on, that may not be possible. What will be possible is the fact that I will finish this story. So dear readers, I hope you enjoy!
DISCLAIMER: All these people are figments of my imagination; any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental. No characters are based on real people, except of course for the real people who are mentioned within the context of the story.

This was it. Their last chance.
No it was her last chance. At twenty-eight she knew that this was her only chance to get the gold of her dreams, and doing it on home ice, in their nation was something that was just everything both of them had ever hoped for.
"You know that this isn't the end for you," she stated as they skated to centre ice. "No matter what happens here, you can have a shot at twenty-fourteen."
He shook his head. "Why would I want a shot at twenty-fourteen without you?"
"Because despite what the media says, I don't know if we can win."
He looked at her. "We can win…if…"
"If we put the quad in," she whispered with a knowing nod. "I know. But I can't."
"Are you sure?" he asked, hoping beyond hope that she would change her mind.
She nodded. "There's just no way. If I was five years younger..."
"If you were five years younger then this would just be a stepping stone,"
"And not the end of the line like it is," she finished with a heavy sigh. "I know. But like I said…"
"I don't want any other partner but you," he insisted as they took their place. "Ever,"
"What are you saying?" she asked as a hush came over the crowd.
"I'm saying that I love you," he whispered frantically as the first strains of their music came over the loud speaker. "I love you and I want to be with you forever..."
