Keeps

My father keeps a collection of stamps,

My mother keeps a list of all the ways I disappoint,

My sister keeps a grudge

And I have learned to keep quiet.

The less I say

The less I can say wrong.

I bite my tongue,

Force a smile

And we all pretend

That we are happy.
