A Little More to Make It Easier

I could use a little more sleep

in my life,

among a host of other things.

Forty winks to get me by,

keep my mind in place.

Some patience wouldn't hurt

to help me keep it together,

calm me down,

hold me still

get me off the edge of my seat.

And I could go on for days

about the qualities I'm lacking,

things to make me a better person,

but that just isn't happening.

I'm stuck exhausted and impatient,

moody, spacey and unnerved.

A small and shaking body

awaiting what comes next.
