Goldcrest and Tenerife Goldcrest

Flitting around, active, searching...

Cute little bird,

Like a firecrest,

Except with an eyering.

It is the smallest bird in Europe.

Females are like the firecrest, they lack orange on their crests.

The Tenerife is similar, but with a longer bill,

Blacker forehead, reduced white on tertials (third group of feathers)

And a deeper pink-buff on its belly.

A/N: My Birds of Europe book says that females barely have any orange sometimes, but it's rarely seen in the field.
