I was invited to participate in a Haiku "competition" in an English class taught by one of my favorite people in the universe. His students all wrote about Henry David Thoreau, so this stuck out like a sore thumb, but I like it anyway.
Today they stand in
yesterday's mess, praying for
a new tomorrow.
