Leap

I step to the edge,
Hands at my sides,
World spinning below.

Feel the wind on my face,
In my hair,
Whistling my ears.

I stretch out my arms,
Imaginary wings spreading,
One leap is all it took.

I'm floating, flying, falling,
Suspended and weightless,
Eyes closed as everything slows.

Then, nothing;
no tears, no pain,
nothing but peace.
