I am an Ice Maiden
In a world of glass.
Those who want to touch me
Should probably make it fast.
Coated in razor edges,
And splinter sharp snow;
I wear a mask to hide a face
No one else will ever know
I'll bite you with words,
Both silvered and glass,
Pallid emotions,
And words not long past.
Crystallized reflections,
And bright empty eyes
I'll tug on your heartstrings,
Well placed sighs
Because I hide from a world
Of translucent reflection,
With a fence of sharp edges
Between me and rejection.
I drift in the hallways
Slip from prying eyes
"Yes, I'm okay"
And smile the lie.
No one loves an Ice Maiden
Of hard empty glass;
Love isn't for me.
It simply won't last.
So I'll ward of the fakers
Who just want to hurt me,
Cool smiles and sharp words:
I'll make the desert me.
So no one hurts the Ice Maid
In her world of glass.
Anyone who touches her
Always makes it fast.
