I discovered what the dream was after watching the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. This poem is dedicated to all those in the Olympics. Special dedication to Nodar Kumaritashvili who died living the dream. God Bless.

It is only now that
I understand the dream
By looking in the eyes of others
I have
seen the fires in their eyes
I have seen the passion in their
hearts
It is these things
that spark the dream
We live and die for the dream
In the hope
that one day we will reach it
In the hope that we will go farther
than we have ever gone
We must strive for
the dream
We must love the dream
The dream is in us
We must
love ourselves
The dream is
love
The dream is hope
The dream is peace
The dream is
achievable
The dream knows no
boundaries
The dream doesn't stop in the face of opposition
The
dream can be found in everyone
As much as some try to deny it
I cannot hold in the
dream
I yearn to release this dream for the world to see
I hear
it in the songs, and read it in the books
I see it in the games,
and feel it in my heart
We dream not as one
nation
We dream as people of the world
Together we must stand
to live and love the dream
As united as people of the world we
must stand
The dream is
love
The dream is hope
The dream is peace
The dream is
achievable
The dream will never
die
The dream will always live on
It knows no race religion
color sex sexual orientation
It knows all race religion color sex
sexual orientation
The dream is in the
faces we see
and in the love we show
No the dream is not
tangible
But it is within the reach of our grasp
The dream is lived
out everyday
The dream is my dream your dream
His dream her
dream their dream
Our dream
The dream is
love
The dream is hope
The dream is peace
The dream is…
Achievable
