Just a poem about a childhood hiding place. It was an assignment for my creative writing class. Reviews are much appreciated.

Hiding Place

A good place to hide was

Beneath the table

In the dining room

Chairs pulled in close

Surrounding me

Crouched in the middle

Of the bare wooden floor

Peeking through the ladder-backs

Desperately, fearfully, hoping

I wouldn't be found

They walk around me

Past the empty metal kennel

We bought for our retriever

And into the pig-styed bedrooms across from me

Not really even looking for me

It's just nice to hide

Not scared or truly troubled

Just wanting to observe

All the while unobserved
