Lin jumped at Kayo, swinging his fist at her side, but the woman was too fast. She spun around on the ball of her foot and grabbed Lin's arm. Lin found himself spinning around, unable to stop as long as Kayo held his arm. The moment Kayo released her grip on Lin, he was sent crashing into the front desk. The wound Kayo had inflicted on him earlier shot out pain throughout his whole body.
"Put up more of a fight," Kayo said flicking her hair out of her face. "I won't get much pleasure out of amputating away your limbs if you don't fight back."
While Lin was taking a more aggresive approach, Ian and Terui were taking the passive approach. They stood back to study the Fear of Loss, trying to figure out what her Free does. But Kayo was doing so much different effects that it became near impossible to find out what her Free did just by observing it. Liquifying the walls and floor, making Ian's yoyo explode without touching it, and erasing the distance between them had very little relations. Even Terui, who was scanning Kayo and the areas she affected with all of his available tools, could not find out what her Free ability was. The only clue they had was that she was the Fear of Loss so her Free must be related in some way.
Lin, however, didn't bother to think as he continued to charge at the woman.
"If Senji can defeat you Fears of Life, then so can I!" Lin yelled ignoring his dangerously wounded arm.
"That idiot," Ian whispered.
Lin stomped his foot on the floor and swung his other leg at the woman's side. There was enough power behind the kick that it could crush granite but that would only be if Lin had struck Kayo.
Lin's foot sunk into the liquified floor, ruining his balance and making his kick miss Kayo's nose by a few centimeters. Kayo took advantage of the opening and struck Lin in the chest with the tip of her sharp shoe. The tip pierced his hardened skin but didn't go deep enough to be a problem.
This wound, however, was just the first part of the woman's attack.
When Lin jumped away from Kayo, the woman jumped after him. Her hand swung out and the tips of her hands entered the wound she made with her shoe. Lin yelled out in pain as the woman dug her hand further into his chest wound.
"Not again, you bitch!" Lin yelled grabbing Kayo's hand and pulling it out of his chest.
But with his good hand holding back one of her hands, Kayo once again took advantage of his wounded arm. With his other arm unable to stop it, Kayo stabbed her other hand into Lin's chest wound. Her fingers dug in deeper and she wriggled her fingers around inside his chest.
"Get away from her, Lin!"
Ian's yoyo struck Kayo in the head the moment after his yell. The woman screamed as electricity flowed into her body through the metal yoyo. Lin slapped away her hands before he was electrocuted too and jumped back to make distance between him and Kayo.
Lin turned his head to see that Terui was holding onto Ian's yoyo string, electrocuting it and making sure the electricity didn't effect Ian.
"Whatever her Free is, it can't affect my yoyo when Terui's electrocuting it with his Free," Ian told Lin. "It's a rule that Free's cannot affect someone else's Free. As long as Terui is sending his Free through my yoyo, whatever this woman did to my yoyo the last time won't work again."
"Like I don't know that," Lin said. "I would have used my Physical Free if there was something stronger than wood around."
Kayo smacked the yoyo off her body and without the yoyo touching her, she wasn't being electrocuted anymore. It took the woman some time in order to recover from the electrocution she received from Ian and Terui. While she was recovering, Lin widened the distance between him and the woman while moving closer to his comrades in the fight.
"Got any idea as to what she can do?" Lin asked the two.
"Nothing she does has any relation to each other," Terui answered. "Her Free must be diverse enough that it can cause these different effects to her surroundings. But one fact I've discovered about her Free is that it cannot affect humans..."
"A lot of Frees are like that," Ian added. "Not affecting humans is the most common restriction on Frees."
"Stop telling me things I already know! Just hurry up and find out what her Free does!" Lin ordered.
Ian frowned. "We're trying to tell you that whatever her Free is, it's too strong for any of us to deal with," he told him. "Escaping has the best chance of us surviving but even that is closing on us because of her Familiars."
Ian lowered his voice. "But there is one plan..."
Ian whispered his plan to the others but he was interrupted when Kayo yelled.
"Even if you could escape, I won't let you!" Kayo yelled after recovering from the electrocution.
The three men stopped their planning and turned their attention back to the woman. She was grinding her teeth and looked as if she would leap at the men at any moment.
"Don't give her the advantage!" Ian yelled at Terui.
The cyborg understood what Ian meant and charged towards Kayo, sparks flying out of his one hand. Terui tried to grab the woman in order to electrocute her but Kayo was too agile for the cyborg to catch. The floor underneath Terui turned to liquid but the cyborg jumped away before he could fall into the liquified floor.
Kayo lifted her hand towards Terui. "Let's see what happens when I-"
"Not happening!" Ian yelled wrapping his arms around Kayo from behind.
The woman was taken by surprise from Ian's sudden appearance. "What are you doing?" she yelled trying to shake Ian off of her.
Ian kept his feet planted to the floor and did his best to keep Kayo from escaping his hold on her.
"Make sure she can't move!" Lin yelled at Ian.
"That's what I'm doing!" he yelled back.
"Whatever you're doing isn't going to work!" Kayo yelled before taking a bite out of Ian's forearm.
Ian winced as blood splurted out of the bite wound but his hold on Kayo didn't loosen. He did his best to keep the woman in one spot while Lin and Terui prepared their attacks. Ian took a breathe in order to yell 'Restore Memory' and heal his arm but the moment he took a breathe...
He found out he couldn'.
Ian tried over and over to breathe but for some reason, there was no oxygen in the air. For some reason, there was no oxygen to breathe in the air around Ian.
"Not easy to hold on to me when there's no oxygen to breathe, huh?" Kayo asked smiling.
Ian's face started to turn blue as he tried to breathe and keep his hold on the woman but he couldn't breathe as long as he held onto Kayo. Ian, despite being unable to breathe, held onto Kayo and prevented her from moving.
Kayo's attention moved away from Ian and towards the other two. Lin wasn't nowhere in sight but when Kayo saw Terui, she found out what the three were planning.
Powerful sparks of electricity flew off every inch of the cyborg's body as he charged his whole body for a single but massive burst of electricity. Kayo knew that if she wouldn't come out unscathed if that attack managed to hit her. Ian was only holding her so she wouldn't dodge the burst of electricity when Terui released it.
"So this is your plan?" Kayo laughed. "I'll admit, I didn't expect you guys to be able to commit a suicide attack but it won't work! It takes a lot more than one powerful attack to take down a Fear of Life, especially if it happens to be the Fear of Loss!"
"It is against our morals to commit a suicide attack," Terui told Kayo while he charged his body with more electricity. "This, however, is not a suicide attack. It is a plan to at least incapacitate you..."
Ian's hold on Kayo finally released and the woman quickly spun around, kicking Ian in the side and sending him crashing into the wall. Kayo turned her attention back to the cyborg, who was still busy charging his attack. The woman held up her hands at Terui.
"Creating a hundred tiny vaccums on your body should be enough to tear you to pieces, don't you think?" Kayo asked.
But before Kayo could activate her Free, Ian's yoyo struck her cheek. The woman screamed as her hands covered the spot where she was struck.
"Fire it now, Terui!" Ian yelled.
Terui gathered the electricity he charged into his hand and swung his arm as if he was throwing a baseball. The electricity shot out of his hand like lightning and pierced Kayo, electrocuting her with the full limits of Terui's Free. She screamed louder as the electricity coursed throughout her whole body. When the last bits of electricity left her body, Kayo was left smoking and burn holes appeared on her clothing. Her body was still twitching from the leftover effects of the electricity.
"It's not over," Ian said smiling. "Look up..."
Kayo looked up when Ian said so and when she did, her eyes widened at what she saw. She was left speechless but it answered her question about what Lin was doing while Terui charged his attack.
Hanging at the top of the many holes in the ceiling was a gigantic human-shaped golem made out of wood, steel, marble, and other materials. Lin stood on the golem's shoulder while the bright yellow eyes in its head stared down at her. Whatever this golem was, it must have absorbed the floors above the lobby and increased its size with the materials.
"Time to drop!" Lin ordered his Familiar.
The golem let out a powerful roar while its hands absorbed the floor above it, letting it fall to the ground where Kayo stood. Kayo tried to move out of the way but her body wouldn't listen to her. The leftover electricity was messing up her body's ability to listen. Unable to move out of the way, Kayo screamed in anger while the golem crashed into the lobby. The golem crashing into the lobby caused a large shockwave that Terui and Ian braced themselves for but Kayo took the full force of the shockwave. She was crushed underneath debris and broken furniture.
When the dust blew away, Lin jumped down from his Familiar's shoulder and into the destroyed lobby. He looked around for Terui and Ian and saw them both lifting the debris off themselves.
"That's one powerful Familiar," Ian said impressed by the size of Lin's golem.
"To have caused this much damage, its weight and density must be huge," Terui said looking around at the destroyed lobby.
"My Familiar's really just a iron ball but whatever it touches, it fuses into its body and makes itself larger," Lin told them. "It's strength and density increases the more it absorbs but it gets harder to control when it gets too big. But this is nothing, you should see what happens when I fuse with it..."
"We have the biggest chance of escaping right now," Terui told the others.
"Doesn't matter," Lin chuckled. "That bitch has to be dead by-"
Lin stopped the moment he and the other two heard debris being moved. Their hearts stopped when they saw the woman throwing the large debris off her body.
"This... can't be possible," Lin whispered while watching Kayo throw another piece of debris aside.
"I cannot generate anymore electricity," Terui told the others. "I used too much electricity in the last attack."
"This is a Fear of Life," Ian said. "This is the strength that only people like Senji and Atsuko have a chance of defeating."
Kayo threw the last piece of debris off her body and stood up, her body scratched up and burned but alright. She was bleeding in a few spots but the woman showed no other signs of injury. When she was standing back on her feet, Kayo's face twisted with anger.
"You three just made me go serious," Kayo said through her grinding teeth.
"I'm going to rip off every part of your body NOW!"
