It didn't take Harima long to join the helpless prisoner.
"He's running away!" Rio yelled.
"Hurry up and go after them!" Sol yelled back.
"Shut your mouths and start running, you two!" Virs ordered.
Listening to his orders, the two men began to run after Harima and the prisoner. Rio cackled and Rio scowled while chasing after the two young men.
Harima took a quick look behind him and noticed that he was faster than both of the men. The distance between them grew larger and larger but he knew the distance between them wouldn't matter if either of them decided to use their Free's.
The prisoner running with Harima took a moment to look at the man next to him.
"You aren't a prisoner," he noticed looking at Harima clothes.
"Of course I'm not," he told the prisoner.
"But only prisoners and supplies are thrown into this prison," the prisoner said. "What kind of sane person would willingly jump into this hell?"
"The kind with insane friends," Harima answered with a frown. "Especially if his names happens to be-"
Before he could finish, both Harima and the prisoner ran into Virs stretched out arms, sending them spiraling onto their backs. The two young men laid moaning on the cement floor with Virs staring down at them. Ticking sounds from Virs' watches reminded Harima of his strange Free ability, how the man could move faster by slowing down time.
"What are you doing in my time?" he asked.
The question was obviously aimed at Harima but he was too preoccupied with the pain in his neck to bother answering.
Virs' watches started to tick louder as the man bent down and lifted Harima off the ground by his collar.
"It's bad enough that I must listen to these intruders in exchange for removing that annoying collar," Virs said gritting his teeth. "But seeing as one of his employees is here, the idiot boss must not be far behind. I do not want that fool invading my time again!"
"Kill him! Crush that throat of his!" Rio cackled.
"For once, I agree with Rio! Kill that weakling!" Sol laughed.
"Shut up!" Virs yelled at his two men. He turned his focus back to Harima. "Now answer my question! What the hell are you doing here?"
"We're here to stop the Fears from releasing the prisoners," Harima told him.
"Releasing us? HA!" Virs laughed. "To those Fears, it's either we're with them or against them! I had to agree to become one of their men to get them to remove that shock collar off my neck. All they bothered to tell us was to gather up the rest of the prisoners and kill the guards."
Virs threw Harima into a wall and kicked him in the gut after he fell to the floor. He laughed as he watched the young man cough violently.
"So many people are invading my time but I'm lucky enough to have someone to release my anger on," Virs chuckled grabbing Harima's collar again.
Senji's training instantly came to his mind as Virs lifted Harima off the ground. Surprising Virs, Harima swung his fist at his jaw. Virs, however, simply swung his head back, letting Harima's fist hit the air in front of his nose..
"I'm going to enjoy this," he said lifting the young man higher and clenching his fist.
Harima already knew that Virs was a lot stronger than him but he at least expected to hit him once. There was too much of a gap in their strengths. Virs really was someone that required another person like Senji to defeat.
But despite the imminent beating he was going to receive, Harima continued to glare at Virs. Virs could see the determination in his eyes and it only made him angry.
He swung his fist at Harima…
"Relocating prisoner to Cell number 135," a young girl's voice said.
In an instant, Virs disappeared in a flash of light and Harima fell. The young man looked up to see a young girl with short fiery red hair standing behind the spot where Virs used to stand. She wore a bright blue female police uniform with a black baton at her side. She had an emotionless expression on her face while she looked down at Harima.
"What did you do to Virs?" Rio and Sol screamed.
Rio jumped at the young girl, spinning his whole body until he was like a drill, and Sol took out the pistol given to him by the Fears. No changes happened to the girl's expression as she whipped out her baton. One swing of the baton struck Rio's cheek and stopped his spinning. The young girl then jumped towards Sol and with another swing of her baton, broke the man's fingers. Another swing of her baton knocked Sol out.
After taking a quick look at the two men she knocked out, the young girl pointed at the fallen men. "Relocating two prisoners to Cell number 129 and 160…"
The moment she finished speaking, a flash of light appeared around the two man and when the light disappeared, Rio and Sol were no longer there.
The young girl turned her focus to the prisoner who was being chased by the three men. The remaining prisoner threw up his hands immediately.
The young girl sighed. "Not much point sending the prisoners back to your cells if you don't have collars on," she mumbled ignoring the two young men. "Where the hell is the Warden? He should be out here subduing the prisoners with us…"
The young girl continued to mumble to herself, ignoring both Harima and the prisoner.
"Um, hello?"
Harima's voice snapped the young girl out of her mumbling. She quickly turned her attention to Harima but to his surprise, she swung her baton at him.
The world went black as the baton struck his head.
…..
Harima's eyes sprang open the moment he regained consciousness. He looked around the empty gray room he was in to see the young girl who knocked him out and the young prisoner, who looked nervous since he was standing next to a massive bald man wearing a blue policeman uniform. Both his and the prisoner's hands were cuffed behind their backs and if even one of them decided to run, there was another guard, a man in his late twenties with spiky light brown hair, blocking the only exit.
Noticing that he was conscious, the young girl grabbed her baton and poked Harima's cheek with it.
"What are your plans?" she asked.
"My what?" Harima responded, obviously confused by her question.
"What are the Fears plan?" she said raising her voice.
"I'm not with them!" Harima yelled.
"Liar!" she yelled punching Harima in the gut. She ignored his moaning and continued. "Over half of my comrades have died fighting the Fears and the prisoners they released. I've finally managed to capture one of you bastards and I won't rest until you tell me everything you know!"
"I'm sorry… for your lost but I'm not with the Fears," Harima coughed. "All I know about their plans is what Senji told me. Something about releasing the three most dangerous prisoners…"
"That's impossible! Arthur Rysier, Hibaku Shane, and Sibling are still trapped in their specially-made cells deep underground," the young girl said. "It's impossible to open those cells without the Warden and…"
The girl stopped talking once she noticed what Harima had told her. "Did you say Senji?"
Harima felt just as surprised as the young girl. "You know Senji?" he asked.
"Of course I know who Senji is!" she answered. "Not a single guard in this prison doesn't know who he is! The question here is how do you know Senji?"
The girl gripped her baton tighter as she waited for Harima's answer. He knew that if she thought he was lying, the girl would hit him with the baton again.
"I'm one of his employees," Harima told her. "I work with him at his business and it's mostly his fault I'm here in the first place. He told me that my Mental Free would be useful in this prison."
Harima let out a relieved sigh when he saw the girl lessen her grip on the baton. She still stared at him with suspicion in her eyes.
The young girl grabbed Harima's arm and spun him around. Harima wondered what she was doing until he felt her unlocking his handcuffs. She took off the handcuffs and threw them aside. Harima rubbed his wrists as he turned around.
"My name's Sayaka Yomi," she said bowing.
"Harima Kago," he said bowing back.
The young girl Sayaka pointed at the two other guards. "The big guy's name is Douki and the idiot is Tohru."
The bald man took a look at Harima and simply bowed his head.
"I take offense at being called a idiot," Tohru said raising his hand.
"Shut up," Sayaka immediately responded.
"My name's Kin, if anybody wants to know," the prisoner whispered.
"You shut up too," Sayaka said.
Sayaka ignored the prisoner Kin and the guard Tohru and turned her attention back to Harima. "I still don't trust you," she told him. "But if you are really with Senji, then that means we might have a chance at stopping this uprising without the Warden's help."
"Is the situation here really that bad?" Harima asked.
Sayaka looked down at the floor.
"Over eighty percent of the prisoners have had their shock collars removed," she told him. "We can't find the Warden and over half of the guards were slaughtered…"
"It's a lot worse than you think," Tohru finished.
…
Every prisoner freed by the Fears had gathered into the vast cafeteria that had been emptied of its tables and chairs and turned into the Fears base of operations. Most of the prisoners grouped together were men and women who had been defeated by Senji and his employees. The three underlings of the child Sei, Virs and his injured men, Leon and Saki, Shusuke and his group, and the many Fears who had been arrested by Senji were within the group of prisoners. There were many other powerful prisoners among the group who were simply there for the promise of freedom.
Hiroto looked down at the group of prisoners in front of him. The other Fears of Life Natsume, Kayo, Ethan, and Narumi stood behind Hiroto with their personal assistants at their sides. Hiroto raised his arms, getting the attention of everyone in the room.
"As of now, all of you prisoners are members of the Fears!" Hiroto announced. "If you want your freedom, then kill every single person in this prison who isn't one of us! Find the prison cells that trap Arthur Rysier, the Man with the Voice of God, and Sibling, Ringmaster of the Free Circus! But most of all, find the cell that holds our leader, the Fear of Death! Hibaku Sha-"
Everyone's jaw dropped as the single most surprising thing had just happened in front of them…
Senji appeared out of thin air and landed on Hiroto.
The sheer randomness and absurdity of the sight had silenced everyone in the room. Even Hiroto was surprised by Senji's sudden appearance.
"Got to send a complaint about that gate," Senji groaned as he jumped off Hiroto. "Spitting us out into random locations just isn't good at all. After all, it's…"
Senji finally noticed Hiroto on the floor where he landed, as well as the other Fears of Life. Sweat popped out when Senji saw that the entire room was full of prisoners and Fears, many of them he was sure had a grudge against him.
For Senji, there was only one way out…
"WHAT IS THAT!" Senji yelled pointing to his left.
Everyone else in the room turned their heads to the direction Senji pointed. Taking advantage of their surprise, Senji sprinted the opposite direction out of the room while they were distracted for that single second. It took a few more seconds for the prisoners and Fears to regain their composure.
Kayo was the first to speak.
"Did… did we honestly fall for that?"
