i want to hold you to forget that i held you.
kiss in the shadows and make believe it's all make believe.
recreate the stars so they'd align to meet us in a smile,
a wave and a nod, because you need so much more
than i can give.

forgiveness was the door we locked, the people we faced
and the names we'd hide behind our tongues.
we could be headless and beautiful, but our minds would
still win the race.

funny how the sun always sets as i'm waking up.
