Quill's Call
Author:
Orloxian PM
After I finished reading one of Alastair Reynold's books, I was struck with a feeling of wonder at how I just toured distant galaxies without even leaving my chair. I penned this to capture the wonder I felt, and how it made me feel like writing.

Quill's Call

the pen dips
and Ink blossoms
constellations sketched
in small quiet letters

the page flips
and Ages pass
with history spelled out
between neatly-ruled lines

the book rests
and Magic fades
shelves reclaim their child
but ideas stay adrift
