trapped away in an

attic cold, filled with

sugar-cane, ghost-dancing

bears

-

old red scarves cover

snow-globe menaces

perfection that creeps like

a cloud

-

if you don't

think too loudly

you may find

snow in your hair

and copper under you nails

and rust like ermine beds

of winter straw made from

half-eaten dreams.
