And she was so beautiful, she was so young. It shouldn't have been that way.

Gray

There used to be a girl I knew

who danced inside a circus.

I never told her the secret I knew,

that most of her tricks weren't worth it.

But that young girl, a beautiful girl,

danced the the moon, the stars, the ballet;

she saw the lights upon the earth

and left her sky for gray.

And that young girl that I once knew

could do every spin and pose,

and when the neon lights went off

she yearned for home, and rose.

Upon rising, sparkling feet

she danced upon the air

until she met a concrete wall

she didn't know was there.

Her shoes fell off, her hair fell out,

and from the sky she fell.

The world below, without the lights

became a her grayest Hell.
