"Eternal Remnants,"

-

For a while now, your eyes have been shining like glass

But what they reflect has made that sight dull

I've wanted to hold your hand to mine and tell you, "Everything will be okay,"

I want to reach you, but I can't.

-

In the early morning sky, I can't even see the sun…

Even a soft breeze recalls a memory that I wanted to bury away

At first, I feel guilty for remembering you, but then

The guilt washes over me

And I am surrounded by laughter

-

I tricked myself into thinking there was no time left.

The time I now have to be myself

The time we've both wasted and loved

Was not for nothing

-

I can still feel the ability to love, thanks to you.

You still have your heart.

And we both have our peace at last

-
