the firelight flickers,
back and forth, staring into it
i'm reflecting on souls.

i'll burn them to the ground,
starting with this candle,
tilt it towards their flammable skin,

watch them melt like wax.
pull on their strings,
puppets, dolls.

the flickering stops,
and now it's time.
