Words rise from the pages and entangle me
Voices strangle my bones
Stuttering fools stifle the song of my soul
And my thoughts won't flow
I'm sad to see you go
Oh, Lazy Day
Lulling still within me
Sleeping in the warmest pixel
Of this frantic sky
I hope you still hear me in the corner
Playing that upbeat tune I never agreed to
Come back to me
Wrap me and all I love in your hypnotic shine
Before the clouds part
The violence of the universe taking control
Growing, crushing the preciousness
Of the smell of hot blacktop
Goodbye to all who wished
Change was Romantic, controlled
The enemy is around us
Wasted, I cry for those
Who also miss that day.
