Okay, this idea came to me today at church. I'm highly interested in the Titanic story, as tragic as it is. I'm going to try and show the spiritual aspects of the great ship to my story.
I am not great on grammar so please, do not hog tie me and put me on a anthill!
Truly, I can take criticism.
All my Bible quotes will come from the Amplified version, I felt that might be easier for the readers.
DISCLAIMER---I don't own the Bible, if anyone thinks that, well, I do not.
Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth.
A heavy set man of about medium size with brown hair that has a touch of gray about and work clothes of the years around 1912 comes out and he shouts out to a sea of men that would fill the Atlantic and he shouts at the top of his voice:
"All you men gather together! We got a ship to build and there's a deadline to make, and by the love of God, we will!"
An voice speaks up from the crowds of workers and this one asks:
"When will we get paid?"
The man looks at the worker and answers him in a thick, Irish brogue:
"You'll get paid, when we get paid Eddie but no one will get any money if we just stand around here like weeds in our mother's garden! Everybody! Get to work!"
The men grumble and complain but go to slowly start the work on one of the most gigantic ships in world's history.
Genesis 1:2:
The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving ( hovering, brooding ) over the face of the waters.
Huge frames of steel began to form the ship, gigantic walls began to fill in the empty frames of what would be Titanic. It was a backbreaking job but White Line industries only hired men that they knew would be hard workers.
Engineers came by to make sure of the work, carpenters came to help build the inside when the time was right and only the best wood was used.
Genesis 1:3
And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.
Only the best electricians were used on Titanic, to give light in the rooms, the hallways, the grand ballrooms and every room on this ship. Thick panes of glass were bought in for the portholes Majestic was the only word to be used to describe what some would call a moving hotel on the vast waters.
Genesis 1:5
And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.
Patio furniture was bought for the outside areas, outside game areas, Everything to make on comfortable on the top, middle and upper decks. A feeling of absolute luxury was even being made on the outside at great pains and money. You could even enjoy yourself outside at night, thanks to lights on the decks.
Genesis 1:6
And God said, Let there be a firmament ( the expanse of the sky ) in the midst in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters ( below ) from the waters ( above ).
Social bigotry was BIG in these days. Separation was made with signs that was worded to make sure one could not misunderstand: 'First deck----Second deck---Third Deck'. In several places, they put steel bars to degrade the poor…the downtrodden….the ones who wasn't born with 'proper breeding.'
Genesis 1:7
And God made the firmament ( the expanse ) and separated the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse. And it was so.
Further separation was even made in decorations in rooms. From glorious, wonderful and rich paintings, gold decorations on almost every doorknob, crystal chandeliers in vast rooms, ball rooms to modest decorations with false gold trimmings in room to the third class rooms barely being larger than a broom closet. The bare necessities being put for third class. A clear separation.
Genesis 1:8
And God called the firmament Heavens. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.
The bosses came on and they looked over everything like they were gods, the ones with power to say: 'That's not right! Do over!' 'Make this right! This is important! Everyone will look up to us and see that WE can do this ! They then called the same workers over who sweated to make this luxury ship and they were paid. The 'Eddies' of the world were finally paid.
Genesis 1:9
And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be collected into one place ( of standing ), and let the dry land appear. And it was so.
They gathered all the workers on the ship and said that there was still much work to be done. More back-breaking work.
Genesis 1:10
God called the dry land Earth, and the accumulated waters He called Seas. And God saw that this was good ( fitting, admirable ) and He approved it.
They watched everything we did. They were really particular in where we put the flowers, the dishes on tables Careful inspection for middle class and not even caring really, for third class. But we still felt skin being checked for boils.
Genesis 1:11
And God said, Let the earth put forth ( tender ( vegetation ) plants yielding seed and fruit trees yielding fruit whose seed in in itself, each according to its kind, upon the earth. And it was so.
The bosses of the great White Line even watch them bring on the vegetables on the ship's kitchens. Only the best vegetables and fruits.
Genesis 1:12
The earth bought fourth vegetation: plants yielding seed according to their own kinds and trees bearing fruit in which was their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good ( suitable, admirable ) and he approved it.
More vegetables, fruits, the best meats in every cut imaginable was still being brought on but the clear separation of classes was still being made and the lesser fine choices of food was being put on separate kitchens.
Genesis 1:31
And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good ( suitable, pleasant ) and He approved it completely. And there was evening and there was morning, a sixth day.
Everything was finished. Finally, with their god like approval. They had made their indestructible, glorious, all luxury cruise liner ship all that they was waiting was the maiden voyage.
Like it? Love it? Wish you could use it for bird cages? Read and review, please.
