John 2: 19
Jesus answered and said unto them, 'Destroy this temple, and in 3 days I will raise it up'
Elizabeth was running, she saw in a blur other people running and heard frantic footsteps and she heard her mind thinking:
'How could this be happening? Hadn't that captain assured me that this could not happen?'
She tripped over something and her hand reached out and grabbed a railing. She looked down and a chair from the deck had fell, pushed down by somebody.
She looked around and saw few lifeboats being put in the water. She heard a voice saying:
"Women and children only!"
Her chance. This time her foot slipped on a melting piece of ice and by the time, she got up, the boat was lowered in the water and she knew her chance had gone.
She got up and with determination, she ran for the deck of the boat then she heard a sound she had never heard before. She had heard boards breaking but this was like nothing she had ever heard or would want to hear again, it was the ship actually going in two but with almost a moan and a cry with it.
She was not afraid of death, she knew her Lord and he would receive her but she did not want to die, not without her husband.....he still expected her to come. To die with him in bed when they were old and gray.
He saw a young female passenger fall from somewhere and she heard her cries as she fell. She saw her splash into the water and somehow she could even somehow see the cold of the water.
So many people, who would survive this? That person over there? The person beside me? Myself?
Elizabeth tried in vain to crouch behind a large object that she couldn't even name in her racing thoughts then she felt her body rise and she began to fall down but with chance, she grab onto another railing and she could feel a scream coming from her lungs then she felt…she knew she was in the water but…it felt like….needles. Needles from her mother's sewing kit.
She began to kick and scream but she realized that was useless and she saw something floating in the water….a wooden…something…it looked like a door to a room, she didn't care. She swam to it and got on it, breathed really for the first time in a while then she looked around, it was mayhem. Screams, arms flying in different directions, orders given but not taken.
Her lips were turning blue and she almost gave up and thought she was to be frozen to death but then she heard:
"Does anybody hear me? Is anyone alive?"
She looked and the man floating next to her was dead. His lips a strange blue/purple and she knew it was up to her…she took her little strength left and she lightly slapped the water at first, ripples at first and she screamed barely a whisper but as she saw the boat passing by, leaving her, she got more determined. She screamed louder and hit the water that it sounded like a slap and the flashlight beamed on her and she knew in sweet relief that salvation had come.
In the days of Noah, only Noah and his wife, his three sons and their wives were spared.
On the Titanic, over 1500 people perished, only seven people were pulled from the icy waters.
Who will live and die for the Lord in the last day?
